Iris "E"

Well, I said I'd post tomorrow, but what the hey... I don't need to go to bed quite yet!

I don't actually have that many Es to post. I've had English Charm (TB) and Esther (SIB) for a season or two now but have yet to see blooms, and this fall I added Evening Comes (SIB) and Eye of the Tiger (SDB), but for now all I have to show is

Edith Wolford - she was the first and the last to bloom in my garden this year - incredible show!

Oh, and here's Eye of the Tiger (SDB) from the Aurora Borealis Iris Garden. Can't wait to see it my yard this spring!

Karen, you have a nice patch of Edith Wolford. EW is one of the first Iris I ever planted and one of my favorites. It's my only "E".

Also does well is some shade with bright light.

Edith Wolford is so beautiful!! I purchased a rhizome last summer and hope it blooms this summer but it will be awhile till it makes an elegant clump like yours.

Really nice photos, bloombuddie. I haven't seen any of those before. Edith Wolford has been a real star for me - I actually got it as a mislabel and it took a little while to get an ID. In retrospect I think I've done better with E.W. than I would have with Mother Earth, which is what I thought I was buying!

Gorgeous Edith Wolfords. Fell in love with Early Bird. Drats. Looking it up says it's a 1958 lavender. Bloombuddie you have a beautiful noid.

'Early Girl' ay. It's a great looking yellow.

I'll take one of 'Elizabethan Age', 'El Mohr', 'Elmer's Web', 'Eau Vive' and 'Eternal Prince'. Catching the iris fever again. Must be the fat buds that have appeared on my noid early bloomer. Woe to anyone who snaps that stalk. They are so brittle after our big rains!

True color unless noted.

Eggnog - picture does not do it justice.

Egyptian - SA, standards are gold, not orangy.

Elisa Renee - blue pink, tall, this is used Monet's garden with purples, standards open quite wide.

Elizabeth Poldark - HM'94, creamy texture, open standards add charm to this one, lasts longer than most.

Embassy Ball - a bit deeper in color.

English Charm - standards keep their cream color well. Hope yours blooms this year WolfDoc. From Australia.

Epicenter - AM'98, a surprise in person as lots of distorted color pics online.

Etched Burgundy - not as pinky.

Extravagant - AM'89, another surprise in person, rose pink.
