Light Grey can be tranquil, but also cold... maybe as much as the blue you have now. Determine what feeling you want the room to have, how warm / cozy / nestling you want to be and then choose a color that will give you that harmony. The carpet in your room - if it stays - will have to be considered when choosing a color as it is really bright.

In 23 years (and currently in our third home going on 14 years)we have NEVER done anything to our bedroom. It always comes last. So I'm excited to finally do something to it. The rug is new...I know it's bright but I love it. It's a small room so seems crowded. The artwork on walls prob doesn't help with the business but am experimenting. I probably have too much furniture in there?? I liked the idea of the side chair adding just a touch of animal print. We are on a tight budget...I painted our IKEA furniture that we have had for 22 years and changed knobs.

The blue color was on the wall when we moved in 14 years ago. SAD.

I would remove the lone wood chair, take away some of the little items on display, and maybe play with orientation of your gallery wall. Your gallery wall is a bit too low and off balance. You might need to add smaller items to balance your 4 picture gallery, and I would remove the circle pic along with changing your multi pic gallery.

What Steph says and you don’t need all those chairs and little tables. The black mirrored table could work as a bedside table and still accommodate the chair.

Ok...good suggestions. The gallery of four I was planning to add to. I agree about all the tables and chairs too. Which chair would be better to go out? I like the animal print on the seat but does other chair work better?

Remove the chair against the wall with no pillow and nightstand that's not next to your bed. Also I would pick another pillow for that corner chair because the white furry one is too different and tall for that chair. Also relocate box below chair.

What about using a barely-there pink on the walls? You could even make it half strength so it looks more white but still has the warmth.

You could also use a barely-there green, similar to the walls in your second inspiration photo with the artwork, or this one below. It would look great with your dark pink rug.

After 14 years in this bedroom, you need to get a new vision for it. The only way to do that is to see it pretty much empty for a change. I suggest you remove everything but the bed, including the bedding. Just have a simple white sheet covering the mattress so you're not distracted by it. Roll up the rug, take down everything on the windows. Look out the windows. Sit and lie on your bed. Pay attention to how you feel there and what your eyes are drawn to. Where is the entry door when you're in bed? Aside from the bed and chandelier, what is your favorite feature/asset in the room? What do you like the least? What one item do you miss the most of the things you removed? Please post pix of the empty room and of the the liked, disliked and most missed items. Now we're getting somewhere and you deserve it after 23 years without a room makeover.

Not sure my husband would go for the pink walls although looks beautiful in the photo you posted. I don't mind the blue so maybe a lighter shade.
