I am not a fan of accent walls at all. Why not find a color you like that will make the sofa pop and paint your whole room in that?

If you are looking for a patterned rug, pick that first, get ottoman fabric second, and find wall color last. If you are looking for a patterned ottoman, get that fabric first, find a rug second and do the wall color last.

I think that your room looks very nice as is. My only suggestion is to turn off that harsh overhead light.

Everything in your room is tans and browns. Gray will not work in there, but blue would look great with the tans. Leave the walls as they are, and find a beautiful rug that incorporates blues and light tans. Change your pillows to blue, and find a narrow coffee table in wood or glass.

Paint the entire room a new color - maybe a shade of orange or bittersweet like you're considering for your ottoman to liven it up as a family space. Otherwise, find the right rug and use a color from it throughout. Replace the ottoman with a round storage hassock, and replace the TV cabinet with a low credenza 25% wider than the TV. Remove the two lattice pieces flanking it. If they are covering some kind of speakers, I'd rather see the speakers. Remove the arrows above the sofa and the photo collage. Pick or have a professional photo of each child made and blown up super big to hang 5" above the sofa and one hand's width apart.
