    The plant pictured is the lavender blooming perennial vine, is clematis. The cultivar has not been located, but note that there are 8 flower petals per bloom.

    This is Clematis variety 'Ramona'. It is vining and can tolerate full sun, however its roots need to be shaded when it is first planted. Once it is bigger, it will shade itself. The motto with this plant is "hot head, cool feet".
