We are too far from the "action" to see much. If you were to stand* in line with the center of the house where it intersects with a line that runs from the large tree (at left) straight toward the drive, and take a series of slightly overlapping pictures that span full left to full right, then we could see everything of the foundation planting area from not so far away. (Post individual pics, not a single panorama.)

*Adjust my suggested location as needed to capture the information as good as possible.

What is your property boundary in the aerial shot? Are all of the trees yours? This looks more like Central Park than the desert. Please explain how the flood irrigation works.

This is a beautiful house. It is hard to see you house from the photos provided. I guarantee that you will get lots of ideas here if you can provide better photos

but my best advise is to find a local landscape designer, that can come out to see the property in person, offer you advise on plants that grow best in your area. My one suggestion is to remove the vine that is growing on the front of your garage.
