I like the idea for a change, but I don't like the carmel colored sofa. I would look for chairs in the colors you like. Rearrange room around your interesting rug. Tall art piece might look better hung horizontally, keeping everything low.

I like the new sofa better. I think that getting rid of the black leather furniture will open up the room a bit and make it look brighter and more inviting. I also like the rug and throw pillows that you already have and think that you should select chairs that will coordinate with those colors (aqua or yellow would probably look best). As far as the artwork goes, I like both of the pieces you have on the wall but the vertical piece above the sofa doesn't look entirely balanced. Maybe you can add a couple of smaller pieces either to the left of the right of that piece so that the two new pieces, hung one above the other, are about the same height as the piece that's already there.

I'm voting for the change as well.

I like the new sofa. I would keep it, the lamp, the art, and the coffee table, and start over on the rest.

I can tell you have a good design touch but somethings in this room are not doing it for me. I like the new sofa, the black ones look a little tired. The rug is too small and is a bit 80's music video style. The vertical high contrast art doesn't quite meld even when lowered, I would consider turning it horizontal(and lowering the other art also).

The rug really is too small. The triangular side table doesn't work at all. There's not much harmony in this room.
