Husqvarva 125B blower won't start

My Husqvarna blower won't start. It's only a little over a year old and was used very little. It started just fine when I used it a lot when I first bought it, but it hasn't been started for a long time. I used the premixed 2 cycle fuel, so the fuel is still good. I followed the normal starting procedure, but no start. What is going on? I bought it at Lowe's. Can I get a replacement? I lost my receipt.

Others with better mechanical advice will be along, but I have a couple thoughts. First, Lowes keeps track of receipts and can probably look yours up; certainly if you recall which store and year of purchase. I just googled and was surprised to find that your tool has a TWO year warranty so they could do something for you. I suppose it depends on the details!

But back to the starting; those primer bulbs are often found to be cracked with newer fuels (although they usually last longer than a year) and therefore won't pull fuel thru the carb. They are easily replaced, but you have to get the right one. You could certainly remove the cover there and squirt some gas into the intake, reattach and see if it will fire up and perhaps stay running. Otherwise, hang on for some other advice.

hi robar, w/o proof of purchase your chances of lowes helping you out are slim. if you feel compression when pulling the string you probably have a carb issue. you can take the plug out and, i use a large eye dropper type thing or you can use a straw and collect some 2 stroke fuel and put it in the plug hole reinstall the plug and see if it fires. if it pop's you know it's carb. i looked parts up for your machine and they're reasonably priced. good luck.

hi again, the gas that your using if it's been sitting around awhile (since last year). you might want to get some fresh fuel?

As others mentioned already, odds are it is a carb\fuel problem. Do the squirt some gas thing first. btw if u remove the spark plug and u see it pretty wet of gas, *watch out so it doesnt become a flamethrower* but unchoke if so and pull start it a 2/3 times to dry up the possibly excess fuel then put plug back in and try again before pouring in some gas... etc.

or if pour gas did work...

Prime carb it until you see gas squirting into the primer itself. (Personally i prime that + 1 more before try to start it) choke it and give it a go. if u hear a sudden putt putt then die unchoke and try a 2 or 3 times. If no, choke 1 pull open few pulls again. Worst case if test ok but still no go, taking carb apart and blow out passages has been my last resort.

Heads up on warranty work - if it is a fuel problem, it isn't covered. :-(

The above suggestions ar great but I'll have to relate my experience when I purchased a Husky blower. I pushed the switch as I do for other backpack equipment, primed and tried unsuccessfully to start. Then after being frustrated I studied the switch more carefully and noticed that it is opposite of all other 2cycle equipment I own. So check your switch closely make sure it is turned on.
