does your ground freeze??... if so.. just tip the pot on its side.. in full shade.. and wait until march or so ...

i had one in a pot with one inch of soil for 3 years ... cant kill the darn things ...

and stop BREAKING off pieces ... lol

btw ... the reason i asked about ground freeze ... is about watering and drainage in winter ...

you need to water in a transplant ... but you dont want to freeze the roots into an ice cube .... but after the watering in ... soil moisture should be relatively high for winter ... but drought is possible ....

soil type would also be a potential variable ...
