Wood floor choice for cherry cabinets

I am trying to figure out which type/color of wood flooring looks best with reddish/brown, medium tone cherry cabinets? They are pretty rich in color, so I'm not sure whether to go with light or dark floors? The countertop is a medium grey. I eventually want to renovate the kitchen and put in white cabinets/counters, so the flooring will need to also look ok with an all white kitchen. Thanks in advance for the suggestions!

hmmm so you will eventually put in new cabinets, or paint existing? I would pick a floor you love and not worry about what matches now.

What is the flooring in the rest of the house, the adjacent spaces?? A kitchen rarely lives in total "isolation"

I am going to be replacing all of the flooring and putting in the same wood floor throughout the entire house. Eventually, I will paint the cabinets, they are really nice cabinets so no need to totally replace! The house is on the smaller side too, so while I love dark hardwoods, I have heard they make small spaces look even smaller. Is that true?
