Any folks here try sonett laundry detergent, especially the liquid, although it looks like they also make a powder.

I saw it mentioned in one of the reviews of green laundry detergents and it was the highest rated. The review not only looked at cleaning performance, but also into greenwashing; i.e. did a sanity check on the ingredients.

Unfortunately, at that time, it was not available in the US--the company had stopped selling it. I contacted them at that time (over a year ago I think) and they said they planned to start offering it again. I got an email from a distributor recently asking if I was interested in being a retailer for it. I said I had just contacted them out of interest as a consumer. A few weeks after that contact, I saw these on amazon.

I am now almost done with my most recent bottle of ecover zero, so I was looking at maybe trying this one.

OK, this is the review I was talking about.

    https://gimmethegoodstuff.org/safe-product-guides/laundry-detergent/

It lists seventh gen as "sneaky" because of methylisothiazolinone, an ingredient which is also used by ecover zero laundry detergent. (I do not see that ingredient on ecover zero dishwashing soap.)

That is an interesting piece of information. I have noticed that ecover's delicate laundry soap, which does not contain enzymes, also does not contain methylisothiazolinone. On the other hand, their stain remover contains enzymes and also contains methylisothiazolinone.

Is it similar to what parabens were used for? I notice that it is used in some shaving creams (e.g. art of shaving) which formerly used parabens. The creams don't seem to contain enzymes, though.

Dear Lord that is a long word, LOL

I don't know how to pronounce it or spell it. I know it when I see it and I use cut and paste. :)

I decided to try it so I ordered one. It was delivered a couple of weeks or so ago. I have used it for around 10 loads. So far, I like it more than ecover zero. It does have a mild scent but it's not at all bothersome for me--I actually find it pleasant. It does at least as good a job cleaning as ecover, but there is no residue on the clothes or in the machine. It seems to rinse out a lot easier. The design of the bottle/cap is perfect--it does not create a mess like I have had to put up with when using other brands. Overall, definitely a strong recommend, but it is pricey. In fact, I like it so much that I want to also get their dish soap.
