Curtains are super easy to make. Have you looked at fabrics? If you can sew a straight line you can make them, otherwise I imagine you can find someone to do it for you. If you look on etsy and search "custom valance" there are many ideas there. Good luck!

I did look on etsy, but didn't find anything ready made and didn't see anyplace to get a custom one--perhaps I didn't look in the right place on etsy. Because I don't have a sewing machine, I doubt if I could manually sew a straight line, even if I had the time to do so.

If you are looking for a simple curtain, no ruffles or embellishments, curtains are the easiest sewing project you can do. And it gives you unlimited options in color and fabric choices, unlike ready made curtains, which you are limited to the colors they offer. I've made lots of curtains, it's super easy!

If you don't want to sew, BB&B and Penny carry tiered cafes, although it may be tricky to find some that blend well with your color scheme. You might find an okay beige/ivory. Also Target and Walmart.

Thanks WB. To complement the earth tones, I believe it will need some bright colour to make the kitchen really pop. For right now I've ordered this noren. It's not really what I want, but it will do until I find something better.

You might also find someone in your community who sews, or perhaps through your local fabric store. I am amazed at the talented people in my own community who sew for other people, and their pricing is quite reasonable! If you find a fabric you like, and an idea of what you want, someone can measure, make recommendations on style details if you like, and make the curtains for you. Or, if you find a curtain you like, you could find someone to alter them for your windows.

If you search "custom valance" on etsy there are many people that have fabrics you can choose from. I imagine if you ask many would be willing to work with your fabric if you find one you like. (From just a quick search it looks like this seller has a lot of earth tones available and great reviews: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheCurtainShop) Also, look in to a local upholstery shop. That's where I got my custom kitchen curtains made because I felt they were past my skill set. JoAnn's has tons of fabrics on hand, and many more they can order. You can also look through pattern books there for ideas. They might also know someone that can do it for you. Good luck!

Yes, bpathome had a great idea, find a seamstress. If you go to your local Joann Fabrics, or any other local fabric store, they can usually give you names of seamstresses that will do custom sewing for you.

Laundries are another good place to ask for seamstresses.
