Dark brown siding with creamy trim or a reddish brown for siding

I like both the grey and the steelblue. The Greenlake house is amazing! Only.. when using the grey the trims might need another color than white though. And when choosing the steelblue the windowframes will need to be black for strength and balance, like the picture above. A grey terracotta siding could give a softer look and can be completed with darkbrown windowframes (with white trims).

Thank you all so much. I love the blue of the marblehead cottage as it is a little softer. I would like a contrasting trim, but I think the white is too stark for both the grey and the steelblue. Do you have any suggestions for a trim color? I have been scouring the Benjamin Moore paint website to look at all of their suggested combinations, but and plan to get some samples today or tomorrow. But I would love suggestions! Thank you SO much.

You can have the trim tinted with 10% of the body color to give it more color or look at white dove

Hi Pan Pack. Thanks for your interest. I tried so many colors! First the gun metal, which was a perfect match, but just felt too dark given that the house is largely in the shade, and now the one side of the house (the addition) is all siding/trim and no brick. I also tried Benjamin Moore's black pepper, which is sort of a dark grey/blue, but it was too close to the roof color and had the effect of too much of the house being the same color. I then tried multiple shades of taupe, beige, or brown, but then realized I really do like the grey/blue family of colors better. So I tried a gazillion shades of grey/blue. Just before I settled on one of those colors I fell in love with the paint on a nearby house--three colors, blue, khaki, and cream. To my surprise, I liked it with my brick. It is not "perfect" with the brick, but I think the colors are pretty in and of themselves. And to my relief, several of my neighbors have gone out of their way to tell me they like it also. So, a long story to say, in the end, I chose blue. I am attaching a photo that shows the brick, the three paints, and the roof. Thank you so much for your help!

As closely as possible, match the siding colour to the brick colour.

I have always liked a very dark color to complement the brick. Try using the darkest red of your bricks to complement or a dark brown/Black for contrast. Staying within the colors of your brick gives the most thoughtful look. (Rather than just picking a color because you like it). Window trim could be grout color, again working within the existing colors available.
