Two storey fire place

I have great room 13'6" by 20 ' with ceiling height 19' (two storey) - Can you please advise me about the fire place mantel height.The width of fire place Mantel is 7' & depth is 1' 10". The fire place is on 13'6" wall- Should I keep the FPM 19' tall?

Depends on the height of the top of the firebox. This link is quite interesting:

Basically for a 2" mantle you want 11" of height above top of firebox, and for every 2" increase in mantle width add 2" of height. So your mantle is 22"-2" baseline=20" increase. 11" baseline+20" increase= at least 31" above top of firebox, according to the guidelines in that link.

The height of your ceiling doesn't matter, since life takes place at floor level. You can add interest above the mantle with art if you would like.
