Brian,

Mantle is 3 solid barn beams mitered at the corners and bolted together. On this photo, the top of the wood storage is the underside of the beams, stained in Sikkens dark oak. Here is photo of mantle being lifted in place, only shot I could find showing the top of mantle. Thanks.
