New garage?

I'm in the process of buying a house with an attached one car garage. In time, I hope to tear down the current garage and add a two car garage in the backyard - plenty of room. but I have NO idea of what something like this might cost. Thoughts?

$40,000 to $80,000 in our area for modest construction methods and finishes. Easy to spend more. Much less in other parts of the country.

After the house, or mortgage, is yours, get bids from at least three contractors. Know what you want so they will all be bidding on the same proposal.
