Can't say for your climate but composite wood does break from water seeping into it and the sun can really tear it apart. Becomes brittle with age. Tome it is not the product I thought it to be.

composite decking costs more but would provide a more longevity.

Every decking product has its pros and cons now a days i see lots of stamped concrete or stained concrete and inter locking tile systems or permanent tile clients of mine have done away with there decks obviously if its feasible I really like the look of real wood I would do a ipe or tiger wood they are very hard woods that last to make them last put on a seal coat and maintain them by washing yearly or when needed and seal every two years
