Found this at Big Lots awhile ago. It works REALLY well and I love the old fashioned Tide scent!

Ooh! I always wondered if this existed, good find!

We all LOVE this. MamaP used to get it at Ollie's and she mailed me a ziploc with some in it...Heaven!!!

Need! Looks like frequent stops at Big Lots on my way home from the office are in order. What is the price?

That Tide with Bleach is fabulous. .LOVE IT. It has more sodium percarbonate in it than the store bought Tide with Bleach powder, and although its A powder with Bleach its been formulated to have a more neutral PH...compared to the regular Tide with Bleach powder which has a PH of 11. This is to protect hotels linen that gets washed daily. Remember the higher the PH the faster the textiles will wear. Hotels want their textiles to last as long as possible, yet at the same time remain screaming white. I highly recommend this and expecially for those of you that consider your sheets to be an investment, usually meaning you spent big $$$ on them.

Lucky luck you Penny to find this. I've been to Big Lots recently and there was none. I'm terriably envious.

Also want to add that although it has scent in the box it won't leave a perfume scent on clothes. .hotels want their textiles to smell fresh and clean with no perfume scent. But your laundry will smell very very fresh and clean..I'll take that any day over perfume.

Yes this can be used in a FL'er..you don't think hotels are using a standard TL 'er do you HahHa

I assume you can't use this on anything but whites because it will fad colors and darks. I would love to buy a box, saw it at Big Lots a few months ago, but that would last me 5 years or more. How does it compare to Ariel?

@Larsi. LOVE this with Spring Bloom. Amazing retro clean laundry scent :)

@Jase. The box was 19.99, and I got it right before Christmas. I've looked since and haven't seen it again. (I'm in California)

@MamaP. LOVE this detergent, whites come out dazzling! You're right, it leaves your laundry smelling VERY fresh!!

@hmorton. I only use this on whites and it's amazing! Ariel is still my new favorite and am amazed by its cleaning power.

Heather, Tide Pro is a true whites detergent. ...I can't say Ariel is. Thats the main difference. Ariel doesn't have enough sodium percarbonate in it to be considered a whites.

I would never use a whites detergent Tide with Bleach powder or Tide Pro, Persil Pearls. .on anything other than whites and lights.

MamaP Thank you, I have been using the Grab Green pods on whites, mostly towels. I really need to find a small box of Cheer and Tide with Bleach powder. It seems all I can find is liquid. Maybe I should use the liquid for the Cheer. I learned here that liquids don't sodium percabonate. I guess I can add some Oxi.

Heather, I'm almost done with your surprise..so when I mail it I'll enclose some Cheer powder and some Tide with Bleach powder. Soon

Oh MamaP that is very kind. I never meant to ask for those powders, I just cannot seem to find them anywhere. Thank you for being my friend.

Your welcome dear and I never thought you were asking.

I asked the manager at Big Lots today if they will be getting more and was told they haven't had Tide Professional in two years and the few boxes they had before Christmas were "found" in the warehouse.

I did however find a HUGE bag of Ariel with Downy and a large box of Biz to add to my collection :) I've never seen the larger bags with Downy in my area...I usually have to pay $5 for the small bag.

Biz has a very retro 80's scent that I can't put my finger on??? LOVE IT!!

Jenny, Biz is nice...if your adding it to the wash cycle I recommend liquid detergent with it...you can of course use powder but that would be a lot of sodium carbonate (washing soda) which can be hard to rinse. I have always liked Biz with its sodium percarbonate and enzymes it makes a great soak for stained whites.

As for the Tide Pro, it used to be found on Amazon for around 50$..I found mine at Ollies Warehouse and you at Big Lots..and I think Amazon no longer has it at least not the last I checked. Shame

Did you find the Ariel with Downy at Big Lots? I recently found Tide F&G liquid with the import sticker (Jody it was the same sticker as Mex Ariel) at Big Lots for 5 bucks a 31 load size. It was in refill bags which I've never seen. There was another one I seen there with the import sticker but can't remember what it was, (see my memory is going). Happy detergent hunting Jenny

    Jenny?? I know you ...don't I?

@mamapinky was very kind to send me a good amount of this. I use it sparingly as I find it more aggressive than I usually need and I don't like the smell at all -- either before or after.

Strange it leaves a scent for you Roc as its formulated not to leave scent. As for it being agressive I believe its less agressive than Persil Pearls as its made to be PH Neutral. strange. LOL

@mamapinky - unlike everyone else, think I just don't like Tide at all. Not any of it. Used original Tide at my sister's and didn't like it there either. She also had Purex which I liked better. Must be something wrong with me.

Right now the Grab Green are doing the best job for me and the fragrances are good enough so I don't need linen spray on everything. Just washed my alternate mattress pad last night -- it's old. GG lavender-vanilla and 140F hot, blindingly white and smells great. Happy dance in this laundry room.

@rococo....Alex and I were talking about the Grab Green pods a day or two ago, and we both agreed they are absolutely amazing! They whiten like gangbusters, clean, remove stains and leave everything with a truly fresh, soft and NATURAL scent! So happy you like them too. They are awesome!

I find Tide Professional to have NO scent, or almost no scent after rinsing and drying. Also, I have to agree with Mama. Tide Professional is designed for hotels and restaurants who do daily and hot washing, and I think Tide Pro is very gentle of fabrics. I however, wish it had more scent, as the scent is clean and fresh and NOT sweet or candy like!

I envy you being able to use light duty detergents Roc, gosh knows its more gentle on textiles. But with kids of all ages, infants thru teens, light duty won't cut it. LOL, except perhaps on their bedding provided the bedding is washed at least weekly.

I do like some of the Tide products, not all...I'll say yourPurex comment gave me a chuckle, I wonder how many people know Purex liquid with or without enzymes is a decent detergent, add STPP to it and it will do a more than better job.

I was surprised about the Purex. It was very good.

With due respect, though, I washed the kids' clothes at camp with the GG and everything came out great. It all had camp grime.

Kid's clothes are made with the worst textiles of all I think and unless they are new they don't look great no matter what anyone does.

I make no judgment about usage but, with kids, I feel better about using a detergent that's evaluated by a watchdog like ewg and gets an A or a B than one that's rated a D or F. DD is very adamant about this. Just throwing that out there as a thought especially as kids tend to stay in some clothes longer than adults (at least if getting our 5 y.o. to change his undies is any indication) LOL

The funny thing about the GG pods is that (as is so often the case) the average person buying it off the shelf would have no idea it's a whites/lights detergent. I've been using them on all my whites loads and more and more of my lights and brights. Just not blacks and darks. I just dial back the temperature and let them do their work. I've never had fading issues but I know it can happen. And man do they smell good.
