Attempting to refinish kitchen cabinets and install hardwood

We are trying to refinish our oak cabinets from the 1990's. We found this hardwood, but are not sold 100% on it. What would you say with the contrast? We have a small kitchen and were thinking a light countertop and a light colored backsplash. We have a lot of natural light.

I agree with Raegan, Go with light cabinets, counters, and backsplash. It's a great combo for making a small kitchen look larger and brighter.

We actually picked a new floor out that is lighter in color. What do you think of this combo? We then thought a light counter and backsplash.
