I had a granite countertop installed in my kitchen remodel today. Part of the kitchen is a peninsula, and the countertop is installed 1/4" off so that the overhang is 1 1/4" on one side and 1 3/4" on the other.

As someone who has done all of the other work in our kitchen remodel, I was concerned about the level of craftmanship and care these guys showed and don't really believe they'd get it right if they came back to do it again.

It appears that it's just attached with a bead of silicone around the edge, would I be able to simply slice that bead, move the countertop to where I'd like it, and put down another bead of caulk?

Is there anything I'm not foreseeing that could go wrong so that I should call them back to redo it themselves (and then hover over them to make sure it's done properly).
