Pantry Organization Help

We have finally come to agreement that the microwave is going into the pantry, woohoo! Can I see pictures you guys have done with a similar setup? Right now we have the wire mesh shelving that is 16 inch deep. I was going to upgrade the organization system to laminate but the only depth the company I wanted to use (Easy Closets) does wrap around shelves in is 14inch depth. There are a couple microwaves that depth but not many. I would like the space to be organized better since more people will be in there with the microwave on the shelf.

It might help if you post a picture of the space.

It's a disaster right now but the shelves on the left wall are 47.5 inch shelves and the back wall are 30 inch shelves. The ceiling are 9ft and I would like shelves all the way up for spare paper towels and the lovely meat head protein powder collection we have thanks to hubs.

That's an awful lot of stuff to have and add a microwave. Have you no cabinets in your kitchen? Or drawers?

I should have added the pantry looks like that currently because we are getting ready for paint so I have been putting anything food related or that touches food in there. The shelving is being completed taken out once the paint is done on the cabinets. This is what is going in but white and and the shelves on the left and right of the corner will be roughly the same height and number as the corner unit shown, along with the corner unit. The shelves are fully adjustable. I just don't know if 14 inches deep is going to drive me nuts as right now these metal wire ones are 16. This is the only placement we can agree on as I want the microwave at eye level or we have to keep the dreaded OTR (induction cooktop in our case) microwave like we have now. My husband said no to countertop and all of our uppers are too shallow.

So - can you dig out the wall behind where you want the MW and then have the MW on pull out shelf for when you want to use it? That would buy you a few inches. If you very rarely use a MW, it might work. It would be a challenge for me, but I sure understand the OTR problem. How about an under cabinet one? this one has an under cabinet mounting kit. http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-category/microwave-ovens?TYPE=Built-In&Undercabinet+Hanging+Kit+(Optional)=JXA019K

You need to know that you will have a lot of moisture and heat released into your pantry. If you do this absolutely necessary will be some type of venting and circulation. You will have odors in the pantry. This topic has been addressed here before you might be able to search for it. There's good information on it. I have a large walk in pantry and never thought about ventilation till I read that post and realized my pantry will need ventilation. Possibly a transom type over the glass door. I personally would not put a microwave in my food storage pantry because of the moisture.

I just got a GE microwave that is 12 3/4 total depth. It fits nicely on my 14" shelf plugged in. We don't use the microwave for much, just to heat kids milk, maple syrup and reheat tea

Thank you for the feedback. I figured having an open shelf and the door being open would work for the ventilation, didn't think about the moisture. We are in Florida, so I think I am scraping that idea.

Can you send me a picture of what you ordered?

I can't imagine trying to fit a micro in there. How big is that pantry?

The pantry is 5x5. The other option is to cut into the side of the island or take out one of these cabinets to put a microwave drawer in. There is electric on each end of the island that could be utilized.
