Like it all individually but agree with you that something other than the fabric ottoman would be best. Would have to see the lamps with the chairs. Enjoy!

Staying in that narrow range of color seems very elegant, calming, and classic. If you want to test color for some pop, don't do it with something expensive and permanent like an ottoman or other furniture. Do it later with a couple of throw pillows, or a shawl, or laprobe. Colors and patterns are very trendy; they come and go really fast, and seem dated fast. If you decide you don't like the colors you've added with these less expensive accents, or want to switch to something neew, you have not invested too much money, and can just rotate them to another room.

Also, be aware that there are dozens and dozens of shades of grey, just as there are endless shades of white. Some seem to shift color as the day progresses.

Thanks Marco for reminding me about the different shades of gray. Perhaps switching the ottoman to a lighter shade will work better? Just found it at Home Goods doe $199 so I was stocked. Opens up too for storage. Just still perplexed about more fabric and if I need a different texture. I have 30 days to return so...
