Drywall in new construction

Hey!! My wife and I are building a new home, and the drywall started getting hung today. I stopped by to check it out, and I'm wondering in the gaps between the sheets, and places busted up in the sheets of drywall are normal?

This is my first time building a home and seeing drywall hung for that matter, so I was curious if this is normal, and is taking care of during the "finishing" process, or if this is something I should mention to the builder?

What do you guys think?

It's not even taped yet for goodness sake! If that freaks you out, don't watch sausage being made that's for sure.

Those will all be taped, mudded and possibly floated a little (they add extra material to create a smooth surface). The cost of your drywall job will tell you if you paid for a "basic service" (tape, a little mud at the joints and then paint) or if you got the SUPREME treatment (tape, mud at joints and then floated with several layers of material to produce a glass-like smoothness = very rare to see this in a regular home).

it's not the best to leave the gaps or have broken edges but for the reason that they are harder to fix and make them look nice and smooth. it's on drywall finishers to make this look good.
