Color issues...

Having trouble with the colors in my dining room. Any suggestions on what to do about the clashing colors between my chairs and wall? The chairs are only a few months old so I don't want to buy new ones. I'm also going to be building a bench to match my farmhouse table which will be on the other side. Any ideas would be appreciated!

You have olive toned walls and blue toned chair backs. Probably the most cost effective option (paint isn't cheap) would be slip covers for the chairs. They can be very charming and help set the tone for the casual dining space.

No matter how you slice it, ONE of the two colours needs to be covered up. Assuming most of the space is in this paint tone, I would assume it would be one HECK of a chore to cover up EVERY INCH of wall that is anywhere near those chairs. Which is why I suggest a slip cover for the chairs. They offer the added bonus of protecting the fabric underneath.

I would love to see covers in a creamy colour...it would contrast nicely with the table and the walls.

Feel free to get a decent match to an area rug at the same time. It is a pretty simple way to pull off a 'look'.

Hi, would you paint all the walls or just once accent wall. I would paint them all one color. Something in the soft cream whites family.

Have you thought about putting up some type of artwork or a mirror?

You could paint the wall behind the chairs with same color like the walls around... or find another color for that accent wall which will match better. Or you could reupholster the chairs with some other fabric. I love your table and chandelier. Do you mind asking where you bought the chandelier? Thanks :-)

I definitely would rather not paint all of the walls because they were also just painted (new house). I had thought about doing a bench like this to make it more of a focus/accent wall but my husband isn't a fan. What do you all think?

Paint/stain the legs of the chairs a dark brown to match the table.

The table is too wide. You will not be putting host/hostess chairs on either end, so could you cut the table top edges down on each side so it will fit the space?

How about a window treatment…nothing fancy…just single panels to the floor; black rod installed 3” over window frame and 3” wide. Do a Pottery Barn rod and panels.
