So last year i bought an Autumn olive online and shipped to me.

2 weeks later they had Silverberry (elaeagnus ebbingei) for sale at Home Despot for $4 for a huge plant.

I also have an un-named plant (someone here from Louisiana gave me 3 of them... who?)

Anyway, the Silverberry/ebbingei has fruited and i dont know when to pick them ?

The fruit are red, and have lost the astringency. They taste nice, but have almost no flesh... Do they get larger , or, after they turn red, are they finished growing ?

Kind of a waste of space if they dont get larger... or , maybe next year would be different ?

Anyone taste the fruit from ebbingei ?

Is there much flash on the Autumn olive ? (mines still pretty small)

my un-named hasnt fruited yet either. the plants are at least 4 yrs old, and they flowered last fall, but didnt hold fruit
