I've been getting emails about upcoming classes and thought I'd share.

The Flower Bin classes

I'm particularly interested in Kirk Fieseler's rock garden and Pay Hayward's native plant presentations. Kirk has become my main source for grafted conifers and rock garden plants. Skybird and I have spent a few happy spring afternoons at his LaPorte Ave. Nursery in Fort Collins. I had the great fortune to tour Pat's yard last May. I'm looking forward to learning more from her about native plants that do well and look good here.

O'Toole's classes

These are pretty basic but I've learned something new at each class. They have 3 locations in the metro area.

Tree Diversity Conference at Denver Botanic Gardens

This is a all day, ticketed event for $75.00, lunch included. If you'd like to add trees to your landscape, this would be a good opportunity to learn what varieties will do well here. 15% of local trees are ash and EAB is here.

A friend in south Denver recently received a notice from the city that she must chemically treat or remove her ash tree. I would imagine some of you will be in the same situation and might want to replace your ash trees with other species.
