I had a dwarf cavendish a few years ago that did the same thing. It eventually fixed it's self, what a relief. I plan to keep the one attached, anything else that comes up will be sold or planted somewhere else so it can focus on fruiting this year (hopefully)

You have a lot of pots in that picture. what else do you grow?

I had a dwarf cavendish but i let the winter have it and it turned to mush in my zone 7. I did not have room to bring it inside.

Too bad they aren't more hardy. All are bananas except the pot to the right which is an avocado. dc mother plant, dc pup and orinoco

You think a banana that big might need a little more root space?

a lot of people don't even make it to this size of a container and that seem to do fine. The banana would be happier but would be near impossible to move it out.
