Some of the Girard hybrids are rated as hardy to -15', but evergreen azaleas are in my experience, not at all well suited to extremely cold climates. Survive they might, but it would be a struggle. Extreme cold plus winter sun and wind makes them semi-evergreen at best even with added protection. Damage to the flower buds is also very common. There is a sizable number of deciduous azaleas, small leaf and large leaf rhododendrons that would be much better choices for an area that sees Z5 winter temperatures.
