some baskets or something in the cubbies. You don't need a lot of items, a few things on top should be enough

I wouldn't want all that stuff on the wall around the TV -- super cluttery. Let your electronics be in the cubbies with the cord holes in the back, so the remotes can talk to them, and then don't add any more knick-knacks. Maybe a few large books, or you could stash your remotes in one, but keep the disks and other potential mess in the closed cabinets instead.

Maybe one ase or other piece next to the TV, but otherwise, I'd focus decorating energy onto other walls.
