Depending on the size of your kitchen, adding another tone may be overwhelming to the space. I think a copper backsplash may be too dark if you have slate gray cabinets. I would recommend picking a white backsplash that will compliment the quartz countertop to make the space a bit more light and airy. You can always add warmth to the space with some great countertop accessories!

Thanks for all your insights. I'll keep thinking about it. Oh, should have mentioned this house is in Arizona and will have more than it's fair share of sunlight - which is why I took a chance on the slate grey cabinets.

have you ever seen the copper panels? you would install them like you would beadboard. tons of texture and colors. just google "copper panel backsplash" for all the pictures.

I think the "flamed" copper shown in Beth's middle photo would look great.
