How do you feel about stainless steel, as an alternative?

Alloy Subway Stainless Steel Metal Wall Tile · More Info

home depot actually has a really nice gray 3x6 tile.

I saw some SS ones, but we are looking for something not as shiny/flashy as glass even. They look good, just not for our kitchen.

Which one are you talking about Beth? We are looking for something more like a smoke gray.

Thank you so much Beth. See what we are looking for is the same type/style of the Merola warm gray you posted. But in a dark smoke color more like what thT dove gray looks like. The ash gray is the closest probably. Wish it wasn't "frosted" I think.

they actually have the ash gray in the glossy glass.

they also have it in 1x4 and 4x12 and little squares!

this is the 4x12 . you could do this in a herringbone on your splash

bradley_amber: Thanks for your comment! The morning fog that I've seen is very blue/green and really not a grey. I am looking for a middle to light grey - would you be kind enough to post a picture of your dove grey installed? The sample that I have seems a bit dark.

How about this gray from modwalls.com? They have a selection of light to dark gray ceramic subway tiles that are shown installed as well as separately
