I'd make all the porch posts a bit larger and maybe connect them with a low railing to give it a homey feel. I want to say something about better definition for the gable, but I'm not an architecht, so it's kind of hand-wavy. A lot of landscaping will be key too.

Thank you both! It does have some decent landscaping in the summer (definitely needs more), but February in New Hampshire does make it look a bit sparse ;)

But watch for the black flies once the spring comes...from a resident of NH for 17 years. But it is a great place to live....

i'd change out the windows in the 2 rooms on the left to 'gangs of 3' double hungs that fit in the same opening.

Its hard to tell in the picture, but those windows are actually a picture flanked with double hungs, so it would take 4 pictures to fill the opening...

yes... but 4 double hungs would look awkward, divide the space into 3. each will be a bit wider than the current side double hungs, and narrower than the center picture windows.

I would love to hear the story of converting a motel to a single family home.
