what mop do you like?

I have been using a cotton mop, the kind you twist and wring out. It works well but takes to long to dry. What are other peoples experiences?

I use microfiber mop heads that screw onto a mop stick. They're soft, absorbent and inexpensive. You can use them to dry mop pet hair etc- picks it up so well. I damp mop my hardwood floors once a week, full mop with a pH neutral cleaner on polished concrete. When I'm done, I toss them in the washing machine and let them dry on a rack. I also know people who put theirs in the dryer- I just don't like the sound.

Kathy :)- I also do hands and knees cleaning occasionally- about once a month. Nothing beats that. But I am rapidly approaching an age where it sort of hurts, so "in-between" is key.

I got one of those spin mops that has the microfiber head and the bucket with the built in "salad spinner" and a foot pedal. OMG, it's awesome! I can spin it a lot for mopping my hardwoods, but leave it more wet for the tile. Never have to touch the mop, and it's machine washable.

I love the spin mop too. It keeps the mop water I leave it bucket cleaners because mine has to seperate buckets that attach. One for cleaner and water, and one for spinning and draining. The head also detaches and I put right in wash with some oxiclean in a lingerie bag so strings don't get stuck. I hate touching a wet mop and I hate dirty mop water so it's perfect.

This thread makes me feel like I don't mop enough. I have hardwood floors everywhere except the basement, bathrooms and laundry. I use a Swiffer in the bathrooms, and occasionally my string mop. I really like a string mop, as it seems to catch the dirt in crevices (like grout).

I set it on my back porch to dry before putting it back in the closet. It does take some time, but it cleans SO much better than anything else.

I very rarely get on my hands and knees to clean the floors. They are probably filthy.

I have a spin mop too and I love it! I have hardwood and use "Wood Wash" by MinWax in the bucket. Gets up doggy footprints and kitchen dirt better than anything I've ever used and it's fast and easy. And my floors are always shiny clean.

I have a Spin Mop and loved it, but now I have an iBraava 240, who will dust and mop my floors. It is my best friend now. When I first got it I set it up to dust my bedroom, sat on the bed and watched it go under the bed, under the dressers and out again! Better than watching tv.
