Actually, the answer depends on your style: most traditional is white trim and ceiling; more modern is all the same color. The former plays up the effect of the trim and gives a bit of a formal feeling, while the latter has less of either.

I meant are the ceiling trim and doors the same color (wall color is bm classic grey). What trim color looks best with that wall color? Thanks !!

My choice would be to paint the ceiling, trim and doors the same color...usually. As acm mentioned, style factors in. There are several great whites from Ben Moore. Check out White Dove to use with your Classic Gray.

What do you think of chantilly lace for trim ?

I have two favorite colors hat should compliment the Classic Grey color you are using. They are both from Benjamin More OC-17 White Dove. OC-151 White. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Best thing to do is get some sample cans of Ben Moore whites to test. Again, check White Dove which is highly popular and a good bet with Classic Gray. Some others might be Simply White (nice!), Cloud White and Decorator's White. I think Chantilly Lace is more of a pure white and a bit brighter than the others I mentioned. Give it a test, too.

I just saw this post. Classic gray is a beautiful color. What room are you panting it in? Does it look more gray or beige? Any noticeable undertones? I have Brazilian cherry floors then I am going to add a Ebony stain and spice stained (orangish) maple cabinets. Do you think classic gray would work or too gray?

I had my house painted BM classic gray recently and used chantilly lace for doors and trims. I was nervous it will be too stark but classic gray is a very light gray so chantilly lace actually provides a good contrast. Very happy with the results.

The light is not great in this picture but this is classic gray on walls and chantilly lace on trims and doors with light wood floors.

I have this same question, same color. I like Chantilly Lace with Classic Gray. Would you do the ceiling in Chantilly Lace too? Or Decorator White?

I did the ceiling chantilly Lace too but flat. The trims were semi-gloss.

Similar thought process here -- thinking of classic gray wall/chantilly lace trim. going to be installing maple flooring (like a light blond so i guess warm undertones?) Any thoughts/suggestions/pictures of how that would go together (east facing living room and aiming for a white kitchen so thinking chantilly lace there as well for cabinets). Thank you!!

i have classic grey in my entire house. I used Pure WhiteSatin finish) by SW on the doors and trim and Chantilly Lace(flat finish) on the ceiling. It looks fantastic!

Chantilly lace is one of the cleaner whites, and I'd use it in a very contemporary space if I wanted a really clean white white. If you want a more soothing calmer and less stark look, I'd go with White Dove. White dove is beautiful, soft, soothing and doesn't go yellow but will provide a nice contrast to your wall color. Going too white might make your woodwork stand out like a sore thumb and I doubt that's what you are going for.

We plan to use BM Classic Gray on the walls, SW Snowbound on the doors and trim, but are searching for a slightly darker gray for the kitchen cabinets, since our backsplash is white and the countertops are white quartz. Any ideas? Thinking of SW On the Rocks......

My whole house is classic gray. My dining room looks a little blah. I used simply white on all moldings and chair rail and below chair rail. I need a darker color on top. Was thinking Kendall charcoal or Chelsea gray. Any suggestions. The French door in this picture is white even though it looks a weird color. This is my foyer that is open to my dining room.

I have classic gray, and my kitchen cabinets, crown/trim and baseboards are all Simply White, semi gloss.

Does the classic gray lean grey or beihe?

It does lean beige at all. It is a very nice color. In a bright rooms it does lean a little cool, kind of white. But still very nice and neutral. I love it.

I think a darker color on the bottom would look better, and Benjamin’s Moore Balboa Mist looks beautiful with Classic gray which you already have on top.
