I am constantly being told not to use marble in the kitchen because of staining/etching/chipping, yet I see so many beautiful marble kitchens in photos on Houzz. I just spoke with a kitchen designer/chef who says that it depends on the quality of the marble you are getting, and that he has 20 year old marble counters that have taken a beating and still look great. I asked for a sample of his stock, and he actually took a hammer to it to knock off a piece for me, and he had to bang HARD. Can I get an opinion from anyone here who has marble in their kitchen.
