Range Hood Options?

I'm building a non-custom home. The range hood options available from the builder were not good, so we decided to get the cheapest one and change it out after closing. I would like to stick with installation specs that open the least amount of cans of worms!

So this is what we are working with:

- Under cabinet

- Bottom of cabinet to counter top is 36"

- 30" width

- 30" Induction cooktop. I'm a high heat, searing kind of cook who generates gobs of smoke

- 6" duct through the wall DIRECTLY above the hood inside the cabinet. Here's a pic:

After hours of research, it seems that my biggest problem is the location of the duct. Installation instructions from several different manufactures require a minimum of 12" duct run before an elbow. Is there any kind of retrofitting that would allow an immediate elbow?

My preferences:

- At least 600CFM

- LED lighting

- Height 6" to 10"

- Depth 22" to 24"

- Sones less than 5

- Cost, no more than $800

So is this a hopeless pursuit? I'm I going to have to rip out the cabinet, redo the backsplash, vent through the roof, and patch up the wall duct? What a headache . . .
