I wish that was a butlers pantry....it's the door to my kitchen where there is a little eating nook. The dining room never gets used...it just becomes a place we pile our junk. I can always turn the table back for company but this way the kids have a space to play in our tiny house.

I'm not sure.....something that reflects the size of the shelf. Do you think it should be small or encompass the whole wall?

I don't think I would encompass the whole wall. I would also clear off most, if not all, of the toy shelf (stuff on top).

You could also consider doing a few wall shelves and then place frames inside them. You could fill the frames with photos and/or art.

Another idea for the space is you could hang a wire across the wall and clip paintings, art, etc the kids have done. I have seen this look really nice, but I have also seen it look really cluttered and sloppy. I think it would look cluttered and sloppy in my home, lol, not to mention my kids wouldn't leave it alone.

What about a large bulletin board to hang their artwork, posters, photos, mementos, etc.? You can change it at will, and take it down when they get older.
