How old is that tree? How long has it been planted? It's a really nice looking tree. Don't really have advice on pruning as i don't like to cut on my trees.

Thanks, I have been looking at videos. Still undecided as to where to make the cut. I planted the tree last year. I'm guessing its about 3-4 years? Its a reliance peach tree.

Where are you located? Reliance is mostly grown in a cold zone like zone 5 for it is clod hardier than most. Taste wise, there are many other peaches that are known to have a better taste if you are in zone 6 or higher.

A vase shape or open certered is a shape for peach trees. If you are in a cold zone and is expected freezing temp, do not trim it yet. It could hurt the tree more with cold injury.

I'm on long Island....zone 7a. Yeah, I've heard Reliance isn't the tastiest, but it will have to do. I let a few peaches mature last year and they were fine. I wanted a larger balled tree, and that is what they had left.

In any case, I decided on cutting the central leader above the 2nd set of scaffold limbs. Thanks for your input.
