I like the three caviar lights as well. Odds are almost always better than even in design accessories. I adore those lights too! Perfect for your space and really beautifully unique. I would not go bronze. To heavy for the space. The nickel would go well with you hood in the background.

I have not seen these in person; however, the wattage is 60 per fixture and we have some recessed can lights, so I think it will be ok. I would have like 100 watts per fixture, but not in the cards. One reason I was considering the xl hicks - lots of lumens there.

I like the clearer globe look as well. Lamps plus lets you upload a photo of a room and add a light to it, but I can't get it to work just right. You may even be pleased with only 2 caviar lights, but it's hard to visualize the scale. Lovely kitchen!

Thanks! The larger caviar are only 14" and I feel 2 are just not enough watta or size for 8 1/2 feet of island.

Did you have another dilemma on this question? I thought you already purchased the caviars? Did you decide against them?

I just never got over the dilemma including the smoke versus clear glass. I think I am now though. However, I've still not found a dining fixture I really like. looked at the one you liked as I saw one in person and it just did not do it for me. So, still on the hunt. Got the backsplash in the kitchen done today and the hutch is getting antique mirror subway tiles tomorrow.

I'd go with a clear glass or silver.

The Caviar comes in a clear glass with polished nickel downrod and interior piece. It does come in a 14" size. I was thinking 3 of those would be too big and 2 would be too small.

also, one of my issues visually is that the sink is not centered on the island with the cooktop centered behind it. It just didn't work in the space as I needed to have 4 chairs and could not do all 4 on one long side of the island. I love the look of 2 pendants with the stove in the middle, but I just don't have that set up.

OK, that helps me understand. Are you doing the clear glass or smoked? Clear glass globes are murder to keep clean in kitchens, just so you know. I'll look around.

Ahhh Flo! Everyone seems to like the clear with the nickel better, but I so agree with you! You can always see dust on the clear. I have white milk glass type schoolhouse pendants in the house we are in now and they are wonderful - always look clean even when they are not. There is the smoke option with brown downrod and interior. However, after seeing the backsplash today (which is very shimmery - almost too shimmery), I do think the nickel might go better. I will take and post a pic tomorrow with the backsplash and you'll see what I mean.

OK-have you seen this one? It is unique, which I think goes with your design ethic, and combines clear glass and a unique wood trim. It has polished nickel finish which would be nice with your stainless hood. I do think you need 3. It would balance right with only two. I would be prone to two, if the hood wasn't located where it is. If you did this pendant, then I think we could find a coordinating piece for over your table. See what you think. This is 26.75H and 17.75 w, so they are large, but I think your island can handle it. Mainly because they are "open" looking so the size is misleading. The do have a post installation and the overall length from the ceiling would be 62.75" or slightly over 5'. So, assuming the island is 33" high and your ceiling is in that area is 10'? these would be just about right. You would have to verify the measurements to ensure they hang about 30" above your island surface. Any thoughts?
