The nice thing about the Bosch is that it will work on 30 amp. If you have older home, you most likely will need to upgrade. If so, plan on a minimum of $300 to upgrade to 40 amp. Just a thought.

What size are your pots and pans? Do you use a griddle, or do you envision yourself using one at some point? If your pots and pans fit the hobs and you don't think you'll need to join two hobs (bridge), then you have no need for bridge features.

Ok I am looking at a Bosch as well. We currently have a standard electric cooktop. The house is 11 years old. What amps are typically used for an electric install and what is the cost/procedure to upgrade if need be? Obviously will be using an electrician but I want to be somewhat informed.

I am looking at Wolf with 5 and Bosch as well, but a 36" instead. Are you able to use a 36"?

I do not think I need the bridge as I had it on my electric cooktop and never found a use for it. I do need one to be for a large pot as I can veggies in the summer.

The price for changing from a 30 amp wire to 40 amp will depend on how much wire is needed and if your main electrical box can handle it and how they have to fish the wires through. I had a recent quote and it was $375 for a short and easy shot to the basement and the panel. But if you do choose Bosch you won't have to do this. So the bridge on the Bosch may not be as costly as it seems.
