Planks for the foyer, or have you considered stone or tile for just the foyer?

If you are open to a more dramatic entry, consider staining the parquet "blackberry," and emphasize its beauty. Adding a rug would be lovely. Look on Houzz for "black parquet" to get an idea of how it would look. Love your lights and door!

when I first saw your post I was inclined to say keep the parquet it is beautiful and while not currently on trend I could see it making a comeback. (I should divulge this opinion is from a dream I had last night!). however that being said after looking at the pictures since you will be going through the hassle and expense of restaining I think it should be replaced to match. Plank flooring is timeless.

Parquet looks great! Save your money for a large entry rug (that you lay down 4 months after refinishing, so it doesn't make dimples in your new finish)!

@patricia hall do like the idea of staining a different tone maybe to match staircase.

I did think about darker stairs than the rest of the floors, but I think I am going to stick to all the same color floors and stair treads(at this time)

Another reason not to change the floor is that from what you are saying, you'd want the planks running in the same direction as the adjacent room, and it's not as visually pleasing to have planks running side to side instead of long ways in an entry hall.

my thought was to keep the flooring border of the space, maybe double it up. then run flooring the same way as the existing planks

agree w/Cancork. I like the parquet and someone paid a pretty penny to have that installed. A BIG pretty penny! I think it looks beautiful. When stained a darker tone, will look even better. ripping it up to replace w/the smaller plank flooring would be a downgrade.

I also think painting the spindles on your stairway black will look very rich/classy next to the walnut stain.

I don't care for that current wall color next to either of your floors. It has too much of a cool, lavender undertone. Doesn't compliment the board/batten wall or the wood on the door.

Consider staining parquet black for drama. If you're going very dark on the other floors you may like the idea of staining all of it black. I'm not familiar with the color "Blackberry" Patricia Hall suggested, but I'd investigate. Cancork, who knows floors, thinks dark stain would be good too.
