I have to agree- this space is great! Not sure i would change much but cosmetics.

How do you use this space currently and how does that differ from how you WANT to use this space?

Upgrading the windows would be one of the best investments for thermal and UV ratings for this space. It would also add uniformity to the home (always a selling feature). The sunroom is almost exclusively windows which means HUGE amounts of heat loss is occurring because of this presentation. The insulation in the walls will also need to be upgraded...which means you probably need to open them up anyway. While you are there, you might as well upgrade the windows.

The heating and cooling system will need to be run into the space as well (the whole home HVAC may need to be updated because of the increased space it needs to heat/cool.

The insulation in the ceiling will also need to be looked at...etc, etc, etc. To take this from a 3 seasons room to a full time living space, the upgrade will need to be all about upgrading the ENVELOPE. And MOST of that room is windows = probably have to look at the efficiency of the windows and the insulation.

Your HVAC person will also need to be brought in on this conversation. Your unit might be big enough to handle the extra space...or it might not be. Only a professional can help with that one.

Not sure if our current HVAC could handle the extra room, but definitely interested in bringing someone in to take a look. I figured while we have the house opened up for siding, it wouldn't hurt to ask about this room.

Really, I would like to use this area much as it is currently set up for...another sitting area. This sunroom is right off our kitchen and family room, and it could give us a little more space to spread out.

If you can I would close up those triangular windows.

The shades should easy adapt to your shading and privacy
needs for example with a bottom up top down operation for pleated blinds, roman
shades and venetian blinds.

Must be able to cover triangles and odd shapes (most
sunrooms have some non-squared glass)

Must be able to be installed overhead for skylight or similar

Must be minimalistic to keep the open sunroom feeling

Must be available in many colors, prints and designs to
choose from

Sunrooms and window treatment go hand in hand for a
perfect sunroom experience.
