The baths are usually very small. Note the first picture and it looks like the swing door may be closed. Wall hung sinks take up the least amount of space. A pedestal sink is usually wider and deeper.

You can buy nicely finished exposed supply valves and drain traps.

If you're restoring an older Victorian home, exposed plumbing was quite common.
