What is missing?

Hello! I've decided to spice up my living room with new pillows and a new rug, but I'm not sure what's missing. Should I change the wall color? What color curtains would look best?

All other suggestions are very welcome. :)

Are those your new pillows and rug? Can't comment on colours if they're not. I like them, though.

I think side tables with more personality would help a lot -- your personality, of course, but here are a few to show you what I mean. I quite like the idea of round tables.

Does the room have any art in it? Do you have a nice big piece of storage for the toys when they're not "in play"? Is the left side of the room (looking at the three-seater) open? If so, can we have at least a picture of the right side?

The rug is much too small. More substantial tables are needed to balance the upholstered pieces. Experiment with larger lamps.

Totally agree with @Rina here. In the first picture you do have some tables on the side, and they seem to be missing greatly in the second.

Rug is too small I agree, when bigger with side tables, lamps, it will feel cozier. Curtains could be a light greyish blue.
