Flooring material

Hi, I LOVE the flooring -- the dark diamond pattern with embedded white squares. Can you tell what material the flooring is made from? Is it slate with limestone squares? Are the slate-looking pieces 12" x 12" with 4" x 4" squares? Thank you! Beautiful home!

    regarding the flooring, I am not sure what material it is - I am only familiar with the doors. it does look like a combination of slate.
