This basement was updated at the same time as other rooms in the house to accommodate a new elevator. We proposed a Cape Cod feel as the basement leads out to the pool and grandchildren run in and out during the summer.

After:

The existing sofas and armchair/ottoman were slipcovered with fresh new fabrics and the fireplace was replaced with a gas insert and the far wall was freshened up with white stacked stone which visually expands the space.

The fabric used for the custom curtains and throw pillows set the stage for the fresh palette of white, navy blue, aqua and apple green.

Two existing custom cabinets were repurposed from the old sunroom to create a wall of built-ins with a bar in the basement:

And the elevator? Discreetly located on the stone wall. Next to a door which leads to new storage space which was added behind the stone wall.
