And also, where shall i place it. is it an indoor or outdoor tree?

To me it looks more like a bougainvillea that is a tropical plant but can take occasional freezing temperatures. If it is, then in summer it should be outside and in winter inside.

Thank you very much, i'll be taking care of it as a bougainvillea from now on.

Okay i have read many stuff and watched many videos. People say you should repot plant right away if you bought it on market, yet there's still winter like weather here. and people also say repot tropicals in mid summer. I dont want to kill the tree and i dont want to waste a potting season without any corrective pruning. i need help masters

I'm not 100% convinced but it does look like a Boug. If so, they cannot take much below freezing. Mine stays inside during the winter, and goes out about May for the summer, after I harden it off. Indoors they like to get pests, so keep an eye on the leaves. Being a vine, they tend to produce very long, thin shoots, especially when indoors, so require constant pruning of green growth to develop tree-like branches, or to be gently shaped without wiring, using loosely tied string. You can see on mine the woody long, curved branches that looked like yours at one time, but I tied them to work toward a windswept style down the road.

As can be seen in last picture leaves and twigs of specimen asked about not Bougainvillea. If it is something that others have used for bonsai before somebody at a bonsai nursery or show may be able to name it.

I looked at my few varieties of bougies. It may not be a bougainvillea. Bougies have alternate leaves and the one pictured seems to have above have opposite leaves. I am stumped at this point.

thats what i was confused with. i checked and checked bougainvillea and couldnt match the leaves. mine has opposite leaves. and leaves are quite softy if that information helps. I'm wondering if this might be some variaty of ficus

Try clipping a twig. Ficus ooze white latex but some other plants do too. But I do not think it is a ficus. Where did you get this plant?

nope, its not ficus. no latex. i asked to place what the species is they said somekind of ficus :) bought it online from a nursery

What was I thinking, ficus too have alternate leaves. Amongst the opposite leaves I have are pomegranates, gardenia, serrisa, olive and none of them looks like yours. So it is still a mystery.

    Maybe Syringa.

Good suggestion. It could be Lilac family (Syringa). Looks quite similar and it does have opposite leaves and the leaf shape seems pretty close too. It is not a common bonsai subject but it could work too.

yes leaves look the same. ı'll be sure if it flowers :) thank you very much.

i read that lilacs flower in spring, there's no sign on mine yet :) only new leaves

May be it is just too young to start producing flowers. The young plants I see next to my neighbours mature lilac have not produced any flowers for the last 3 yrs or so.
