My Living room dilemma

I am not sure if my rug looks ok? Should I get a smaller one? What corner should I hang the tv?? Any suggestions for decorating, lights, throw pillows?? Help!!!! When you enter living room my love seat is on the left and the couch is on the right.

It is hard to tell how large the rug is. Can you take a photo from farther back?

    I like the rug.

You may wish to pick up colors from it to accent the room (throw pillows, wall art, etc.).

The rug goes under the sofa and love seat. It's a 9x13, to the right of the couch are windows and the front of the house. It's hard to get a broader picture when I'm standing at the front door lookin in

I suggest using the loveseat where the sofa is and not using the sofa in the room. Replace the sofa with two small scale club or accent chairs, one on each side of the loveseat to form a u seating arrangement. A smaller rug to anchor this sitting. Hang the TV on the wall opposite the new placed loveseat, anchor with a console table. Picture or other wall art above the loveseat .

With the sofa & loveseat facing each other there is no good place to hang TV. Looks like the only wall you have is behind the sofa,

Is it at all possible to put the sofa on the wall that has the window and front door? Would that fit? Or, could you move either the sofa or love seat to another room so that you had just one couch in the room? Then, you could add a comfy chair for more seating, but I also think the room would have a little more interest and be less like a hallway. Also, are you limited as to where you can put the TV? Do you have cable access on a particular wall?

I agree that pillows and curtains which compliment the colors in your rug would complete the room nicely.

Love the rug! Bring in more of those blue tones with accent pillows on the sofas.

I always have trouble mixing patterns?! The rug has a pattern so I'm not sure how to mix with pillows. I'm tempted to start over and get a couch that's slimmer like one from Ikea??

Love the rug. I'd center the sofa and rug with the sofa wall and remove the loveseat. Then, put a low tv console across from the sofa. Two cute accent chairs flanking the sofa and a coffee table would round it out. If you need to seat more, you can put a couple of benches or stool type seating on each side of the tv console. It would probably fit better using the loveseat here instead of the sofa.

This would be a great coffee table so you can separate and share with the chairs.

Darzy, I love all your suggestions!! Where can I find the chair, pillows and tables???
Darzy, are you saying use love seat on sofa wall instead of sofa?

    • Sell the seating pieces so the rug can take center stage

    • Center the rug in the room

    • Use 3-4 small scale chairs

    • Circle them around a round coffee table or ottoman

    • Or place two pieces between each two chairs as side tables

    • Remove the wreath and the wall lamp

    • Since the floor lamp is still in the plastic wrap, return it

    • Replace the lamp with an arc lamp to hover above the table

    • Remove the mail box and hang stationary drapery panels

    • This should leave the walls open for the TV installation and art

I'd prefer the sofa but if after two small accent chairs makes it crowded, I'd swap the sofa out with the loveseat instead.

Darzy are you saying to put tv on left wall when entering in front of windows on side of the house?

    Love the orange chair!!!

@decoenthusiaste where are you suggesting to put the tv?

@darzy if input TV across from couch wall is it ok that there are windows there? It's the side of the house anyhow?

Behind the two swivel chairs since they can turn to view it.
