    Cant quite remember... this was some time ago. I do know that most cable supply companies suggest 3' between uprights. If you have tighter spacing on the cables you can possibly spread your posts out further.

    Thank you for you quick response. What about the large wood beams? You seem to have a larger than usual space between the 2nd & 3rd beams...

    ah...you should consult with an engineer. I simply did the railing on top of the deck.
