Can this unit be recessed in sheet rock and be direct wired?

I never receivec a response. No, this unit can not be recessed. controls and heat come out of the top. I had to return. I ordered a second Touchstone 80006 Forte, they are flush mount and hard wired. Both are for bedrooms. For variety we ordered another flush mount that had traditional logs for the living room.
