The way your wall bumps out it's doubtful that a round table will work there. It would need to be pretty small.

Get a large piece of kraft paper and cut a big circle to see how that would fit. Then, if it's too big, keep cutting the circle down. Use a pencil tied to a long string as a make-shift compass to make a round circle.

What is the furniture piece in the lower left corner? Could that move to make room if the round table sticks out?

Not sure a large round table will work in that space given the bump out in the middle. You might be better off with two small chairs facing each other with a small table inbetween.

I'd put a small table in the niche closer to the stairs, and pair it with a barrel-backed chair on the right. The bump-out in the middle radically changes the options here. None of these photos is an exact parallel, but you get the idea. I think you could still use a round table with flowers and so forth, but a lot smaller than your first vision.
